Please read this post by the Belmont Club, it is excellent. It really shows what our military can do against these cowards in Iraq if they are allowed.

Also, the Dems have really imploded since I posted last. It's really heartwarming to see. They are a dying party and they know it. If you don't agree tell me who the pre-eminent leader of that party is. There isn't one. I know most are thinking about Barak Obama, he may hold potential for the future but you don't put a Freshman Senator in charge of your party...that speaks volumes...

Gotta go for now...it's great to be back!

Somebody please tell the Democrats!

The troops still support the war. They are using nothing more that revisionist history to blur America's Founding Fathers' true intentions.

We are a nation founded on the basic structure of the Judeo Christian religion, this is a fact that cannot be ignored. There is not one, NOT ONE! mention of "separation of Church and state" anywhere to be found in our Constitution. Quite the contrary, in the Declaration of Independence it mentions God and Creator. Our judicial system was established using the Ten Commandments as one of it's guideposts. In fact the term "separation of Church and state didn't even exist before 1802 when Jefferson wrote in a personal letter to the Danbury Baptists telling them not to worry that the Federal govt would not involve itself with the business of the Church. To Jefferson, his statement meant the exact opposite of what the American left is trying to shove down out throats today!

The Establishment Clause in the First Amendment is there so the Federal govt could not establish a national denomination of Christianity. Remember when their ancestors fled England they were fleeing religious persecution. They were being required to belong to the Church of England or the Anglican Church of which the King of England had established. They were fleeing religious intolerance! In this country you are free to choose whatever faith you want to follow, even the faith of atheism (yes it is a faith) You are not free, however to deny me my right to express my Christian beliefs however and wherever I so choose.

And before any of you try the Treaty of Tripoli thing on me, I refer you here.

Geez...the liberal media doesn't stop!

This may be a little late but hey, I've been busy.

It seems that Sec. Def. Don Rumsfeld is being scewered in the lib media again! This time they are trying to protray him as some uncaring buffoon. They are actually trying to make people believe he doesn't give a rats a%@ about our troops in country! Well, as usual the MSM has it wrong again. Here are the facts from International Online Defense Magazine.

"In May 2004 the US Senate approved US$618 million funding for the production of 300 M1114s (Up-Armored Humvees) per month from May through October, and 450 per month, from October 2004 till March 2006. $610 million were also allocated for armor kits for existing tactical vehicles. According to Major General John Sattler, Director of Operations for CENTCOM, the US Army initial assessments were that 1,000 up-armored Humvees will be sufficient for patrol, convoy protection and transportation in Iraq and Afghanistan. However, as opposition forces in both countries changed their ambush tactics and IED techniques, the numbers where updated, calling up for 2,500 more M-1114 up-armored Humvees. Currently, production of 2,000 more vehicles are on contract, and expected to be delivered in theater by December 2004, with approximately 4,500 up-armored humvees scheduled to be operational in the theater. In addition, 8,000 up-armored kits are on ordered and being installed to protect windshields and doors for additional vehicles, including trucked and soft skinned Humvees."

This issue was being dealt with sufficiently WELL BEFORE that so-called reporter planted that ambush question to the Sec. Def.

I guess since Ashcroft is gone, Rummy will have to be the lightning rod for the next 4 years. It's sad really...Rummy has done an excellent job with the situation he was thrown into. Why is nobody questioning why we have troop shortages in the first place? It couldn't be that the Clinton Administration slashed our active duty military by over 1/3rd in the 90's could it? Heavens no, this mess is all Bush's fault....the American left is just getting loonier every day. It's funny and sad at the same time, but mostly it's just frustrating as hell.

If you are here from BE I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. Especially if you disagree...I'd love to see how you can argue with the facts given in the above article.

This tics me off!!!

While surfing Blog Explosion I came accross a link to this Blog. It is a site devoted to not only the photo's of dead soldiers and Marines and their funerals but also to the absolute grotesque pictures of those injured and killed in battle. War is horror. War is death, destruction, and disease. The only good thing about war is when it liberates the opressed from the opressors, ie... the Jews from the Nazi's, the Afghani's from the Taliban, and the Iraqi's from Saddam and his maniaical sons.

If you read the FAQ's he says he's not anti war but I don't believe him. He states that we "voted for this war. Let's see it." How un-Godly stupid of a statement is that? Again, I harken back to WWII. Congress approved that war too but do you think the American public wanted to see the pictures of the dead, twisted limbs and bodies on Omaha Beach? Did they want to see pictures of the more than 6000 Marines killed in just the first month of the battle for Iwo Jima?? No!!!

There are those that glorify war and try to make it something it's not. Those are the people that need to see what war is...the majority of American's, I believe, understand that war is evil. It doesn't need to be shoved in our face for shock value and that's what the blogger here is really after...shock value.

Using this logic I think we ought to be more forthcoming with pictures of aborted babies. Should we publish pictures of the mutilated, chemically burned, and tortured bodies of dead babies...after all, some American's support the right for a mother to hire someone to exterminate their child let's see it. Personally, I do believe that if more people actually saw pictures of what they were supporting they wouldn't support it as fervently as they do because of the shock factor.

Now some will say that I am being hypocritical, I do support showing pictures of mutilated babies who died at the hands of those who should be protecting them the fiercest but I don't support the exploitation of the dead and dying in battle. The difference here is choice and innocence. Unborn babies are the most innocent beings in the world and deserve protection from those that would do them harm and have no choice in whether or not they live or die. With the exception of the civilian casualties, especially the children (God help them that is a real tragedy) those terrorists are making a choice to confront our soldiers and Marines and they deserve whatever they get. Does anybody feel sorry for them? I believe it shows a lack of respect for our soldiers and Marines to show their dead and dying brothers in arms. Not only does it affect their morale but it affects the American publics morale.

Nobody, supporters of this war and those who don't support it, wants to lose another American life. By showing pictures like this it actually undermines the war effort. If you don't support their mission then you can't support them. That's not a popular statement with the American left but it's the truth...you can't support someone if you don't support what they're doing.

This must be shared

I would try and paraphrase or add my own commentary but that would be a major disservice to this Marines perspective. Read all of this and then think about what you hear in the main stream institutionalized media outlets like the NY Times and CBS.

Also, this from Fallujah.

In Fallujah, Iraqi forces uncovered a lab in the southwestern district of the city, where pockets of insurgents are still holding out following the assault.
"We also found in the laboratory manuals and instructions spelling out procedures for making explosives," Dawoud said. "They also spoke about making anthrax."
Dawoud showed pictures of a shelf containing what he said were various chemicals.
Earlier, the U.S. military said it had uncovered the largest arms cache yet inside the mosque of an insurgent leader in Fallujah. Troops found small arms, artillery shells, heavy machine guns, and anti-tank mines Wednesday inside the Saad Abi Bin Waqas Mosque in central Fallujah where Sunni rebel leader and imam Abdullah al-Janabi often spoke, the U.S. military said in a statement.
U.S. Marine officers say they so far have found enough weapons in Fallujah to refuel a nationwide rebellion.

It's time to break the back of the resistance and not let up. This is a testament to just how good our young fighting men are at doing what has to be done. That being said, no doubt most have heard or read about the young Marine supposedly shooting a wounded terrorist inside a mosque. The Marines are doing what should be done...they are conducting an investigation to get the WHOLE story...something the media needs to get back to. How many of you knew that the day before this video was shot that a Marine in his unit was killed when he was attending to the body of another dead terrorist because the body was booby trapped? Also, how many knew that this young Marine was shot in the face the day before as well and wanted to get back to his Marine brothers more than anything else. That's commitment and dedication at it's finest. It's really too bad that our soldiers and Marines have to fight 2 enemies really, both the terrorist and the media. With this kind of media coverage we never would have won WWII.

I've heard a lot of people, media and pundits, claiming Geneva Convention violation on this. It would be if the wounded man was a soldier wearing a country's uniform and serving under a sovereign country's flag. As it stands this man was trying to kill American combat troops under no banner but religious fanaticism and is accorded no such rights.

Next, hooray for Condi!! She will be absolutely wonderful as Sec. of State. As usual the left, who claim to be all about diversity and should be lauding this as an advancement for black Americans, are all about beating her down because she happens to be of a different opinion. Typical. Cast your eyes on this, this, this, and read this. It's enough to make you sick.

This administration is the most diverse in history and people want to call Republicans racist...what hypocrites!

Then there's this...from the amazing radio host Glenn Beck. Remember all of those Hollywood idiots saying they'd leave the country if Bush were re-elected? Well, Glenn's trying to make that happen for one "lucky" celeb...go here and help do your part.

In even scarier news, the Ruskies are in the game again. At least they're not Iran.

Maybe I'll post more later...gotta go!

What I've noticed...

I've been surfing Blog Explosion a lot recently and I've noticed that most of the liberal bloggers out there don't get it. I don't know how many blogs I've read that the writer just doesn't understand or even want to understand why it is Bush and the Conservative movement won so soundly. All they seem to want to do is cry in their beer. We've all heard the liberal pundits claiming that the "moral values" most Americans that voted for Bush were expressing was their opposition to gay marriage. If they want to keep deceiving themselves that's fine, however, that's not why the Democrat Party was shunned at the polls.

I understand that most Americans share the same values and want what's best for this country and for their families and those two go hand in hand, they have to. Red state, blue state, what does that really mean anyway....we're all Americans and those of us who voted for the President can't understand why some in the Michael Moore crowd can claim to love this country when all they do is spew lies and hatred with the intention of further dividing this nation.

Those of us who voted for the President understand the war on terror. We understand that Iraq is but a battle in the war on terror. Iraq is not "taking our off the ball" as some argue. Why would Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his terrorist organization be doing all it could to resist Iraq's independence? I thought liberals were supposed to be for human rights... so why on Earth have they vehemently protested the liberation of over 50 million people?! The people who have benefited most from the liberation of their respective countries is women, are we supposed to believe that women would be better off under their former regimes? Contrary to popular leftist belief WMD's were a reason for our invasion of Iraq but they weren't the only reason. If you read his 2002 Address to the UN , you will understand that fundamental human rights were also, a reason. The analogy of WWII comes to mind. Would today's liberals be in favor of spilling the blood of thousands upon thousands of human beings to put an end to Hitler's Final Solution? After all, Germany was no direct threat to the United States at the time and they didn't attack us, the Japanese did.

The real reason this country has become so divided is because there is a Republican in the White House and the Main Stream Media (MSM) likes nothing better than stirring things up because it sells papers and gets ratings. I don't believe we're red or blue. We're Americans! All we want is to live in peace and raise our families. Just like the people of Iraq and Afghanistan do. Thanks to us and our allies they can begin living life as they choose. It's going to take time, I think people are expecting way too much way too soon....after all America has had well over 200 years to perfect a free Republican form of government and some would argue we still have improvements to make.

This short post ended up being a lot longer than I had intended but I needed to get some of that off of my chest. I guess what I really want is for our country to be united again. We're really not so different, liberals and conservatives...it's time to bury the hatchet and get on with the business of winning this war and putting this whole thing behind us.

There's a lot going on....

Wow, there's a lot going on out there in that big ol' world tonight.

First up, we have the Fallujah offensive well under way. This is a very good thing, just pray for the Marines and Soldiers doing this very dirty work. This town needs a good cleansing once and for all. There have been and there will be Coalition casualties, but there is no way around that and they understand that....probably more than the rest of us. Thank God there are those out there willing to do what they do.

Second, Arlen Specter. There is a battle brewing in conservative circles on whether or not to let Senator Specter have the Judiciary Committee chairmanship. For those of you who do not know Specter is what some would call a RINO or Republican In Name Only. He's a pro-choice lefty by most respects but still a Republican. He's also slated to Chair the Judiciary committee, which is likely to be one the most important committees in recent history when it comes to Bush's Judicial nominees, especially his Supreme Court nominations. There are like to be 3 or 4 retirements from the High Court in the next 4 years so the leadership on this committee is crucial. There are those that believe because Specter is pro-choice he should be "thrown under the bus" as Hugh Hewitt would say thus paving the way for a more conservative chair. I, and others, are of the opinion that Specter should be given the chairmanship and then watched very carefully. We must prove that there is room in the Republican Party for all different views and we don't just remove somebody because we "think" they're going to behave in a certain manner, that's what liberals do. We must wait and if/when Specter begins obstructing Bush's nominations then the appropriate actions must be taken. I say he's earned his position whether you agree with his beliefs or not.

On with it...

The election is over and thankfully the good guys won and won convincingly. Now it's time to get on with it. There is a battle royale mounting for the Iraq city of Fallujah. The Marines and Soldiers who have been surrounding the city since they were ordered back in April are itching to go in and clean house. Hopefully, they will be allowed to do what needs to be done. Please, I urge you to read more at The Green Side. I still believe that it's not going to be close, at least not as close as the "experts" predict. I still am going with Bush winning 41 states. I don't think people like the idea of seeing John Kerry in their living rooms for the next 4 years. Heck, the fact that Osama all but had a Kerry/Edwards sticker plastered to his turban should be enough for any red blooded American to vote Bush. The Kerry people just get boiling mad when you bring up any mention of them being preferred by terrorists and those that sponsor them but facts are facts. This has been a long drawn out election. Things have gotten nasty, mostly by the left. It never ceases to amaze me, Kerry and his surrogates can get away with calling the President a liar, a murderer, an idiot, etc... but if Bush fights back by pointing to Kerry's 20 year abysmal Senate voting record it's called an attack? That just doesn't add up. I've said it before, for so many reasons, John Kerry doesn't deserve to be a Senator let alone the next Commander in Chief. Let's bottom line this. Everyone these days says we should support the troops, of course we should, they are the one's fighting and dying in this war on terror. According to a poll by the Army times, the troops prefer Bush over Kerry 73% to 18%. Our military, those in a position to know how things are really going in this war on terror, want Bush by an almost 4 to 1 margin. That's amazing! So tomorrow as you go to the polls remember what's really at stake...the future of how we address this war on terror. We can either stay the course and keep fighting back, staying on the offensive...or we can withdraw, fighting a defensive war... I don't know about you but I choose to stay on the offensive, never taking our foot off the necks of these bastards....and it appears out troops do too.

Leave it to the MSM!

I can't believe this. I can't even begin to describe the far reaching implications this news delivers. This is powerful stuff.

I can't wait to see how Kerry / Edwards and Co. try to spin this one. There was no way Russia was ever going to approve a UN Security Council resolution authorizing war in Iraq. They were never going to give the US and UK access to their dirty dealings with Saddam. With "allies" like this who needs enemies. If this news doesn't vindicate Bush and Blair in many eyes I don't think anything will.

This also vindicates the theory that Saddam moved his banned weapons to Syria and other locations outside of Iraq's borders. The UN Oil for Food program is undoubtedly behind this. I'm sure other such stories from the French and Germans will surface in due time. This could be the last nail in the coffin for Kerry / Edwards.

This is just too good!

The major media today "broke" the story of tons of high explosives being stolen out from under the nose of the US Army. Here's a link to the story. Somehow, some way this story is supposed to damage Bush's credibility and leadership ability. Kerry / Edwards of course lost no time in jumping on the bandwagon.

"The incredible incompetence of this President and this administration has put our troops at risk and put this country at greater risk than we ought to be,'' said Kerry

Even ol' Joe Lockhart gets into the act.

"The Bush administration knew where this stockpile was, but took no action to secure the site. They were urgently and specifically informed that terrorists could be helping themselves to the most dangerous explosives bonanza in history, but nothing was done to prevent it from happening," he said.
"This material was monitored and controlled by U.N. inspectors before the invasion of Iraq. Thanks to the stunning incompetence of the Bush administration, we now have no idea where it is," Lockhart said. He demanded the White House explain "why they failed to safeguard these explosives and keep them out of the hands of our enemies."

But isn't it funny how just like every thing else the Dems try to smear Bush with blows up in their faces....this from Drudge.

I'm still calling it a landslide for W. I think he will win at least 41 States. At the end of the day it's the safety and security of their children and grandchildren people worry most about. Kerry just doesn't measure up to Bush in this arena.

This is not a good man

John Kerry, to quote Lynn Cheney, "this is not a good man." No truer words have been spoken in this election season. Given all the evidence of his disdain for this country and our military he shouldn't even be in the Senate let alone the Democrat Nominee for President of the United States. Not only because of his 1971 testimony in front of the Foreign Relations committee that slandered the hell out of all those brave soldiers who fought and died for this country but also for statements like this:

In 1994, discussing the possibility of U.S. troops being killed in Bosnia, he said, "If you mean dying in the course of the United Nations effort, yes, it is worth that. If you mean dying American troops unilaterally going in with some false presumption that we can affect the outcome, the answer is unequivocally no."

This is unbelievable! But it doesn't stop there. One has only got to go back to earlier this year when Kerry, at a town hall meeting, was confronted by a seriously delusional member of the audience who accused our soldiers of bombing hospitals and mosques, and sniping women and children in Iraq! What does Kerry do...does he at once come to the defense of our fine men and women putting it all on the line for us every day? Does he tell this loon that in fact he's a loon? No. He simply, unemotionally tells the audience he's planning on handing Iraq over to the United Nations if he wins the election. This is outrageous! I can't believe the once grand Democrat Party, the party of Roosevelt, Truman, and Kennedy (Jack not Teddy!) have nominated this dolt to hold the most powerful office in the world.

This election isn't about Democrat vs. Republican. It isn't even about liberal vs. conservative. This transcends all party and ideological lines. We are in a a war for out very survival! Our enemy knows no limits. He will stop at no level to the depths he will go to destroy us...every last one of us that doesn't agree with his twisted view of the world. We have a very clear choice to make in a week and a half. Jobs, the economy, health insurance, tax cuts...none of that matters if we don't deal with the enemy at the gate. The President understands this, probably more than any of the rest of us short of the soldiers and Marines fighting these animals. It's time to put our differences aside and do what's best for the future of our nation.

Why Bush is the Right Man at the Right Time

In answer to the question posed by Hugh Hewitt.

Quite simply, George W. Bush is the right man at the right time in our nations history. Is he perfect? No. Do I disagree with him on some issues? Yes, but then who agrees with even their own spouse 100% of the time? This race really comes down to one key question...who will make America safer and continue taking the fight to the terrorists? Clearly, it's GWB. How many times in the days and weeks after 9/11 did we hear "Thank God there's a Republican in the White House." I heard that most often from Democrats who voted for Gore. Admit it, if you're a Democrat take yourself back to those days. It gave you comfort to know that there was a man sitting at the helm you knew was working on striking back at the savages that killed so many of our fellow countrymen for nothing? The battle in Iraq is an extention of the Global War on Terror, not a diversion. Don't believe John Kerry and his surrogates that Iraq was for anything less than the safety and security of our nation. A free Iraqi Republic will be our nations best defense. Think about it, why else would the terrorists be doing everything in their power to turn Iraq into utter chaos. They know the stakes. If they are to survive, freedom cannot flourish. They know if people have the choice between freedom and liberty or radical totalitarianism they will choose freedom every time. At their core every man and woman longs for freedom, for choice in their daily lives. People want to be able to live their lives, go to work or school, raise their children, and not have to worry about being brutally tortured or executed by their government. That's not just an American dream, that's the dream of every human being. President Bush has lead two coalitions that have liberated some 50 million people. People who once had no chance to realize their dreams now do. The President has a vision for the middle east that we must continue to build upon. It will, no doubt, take sacrifice and hard work but if we can see this through the payoff will be the end of the middle east that is a breeding ground for terrorists and those that harbor them. Sometimes doing what's right isn't easy.

Presidential Debate

George W. wiped the floor with Kerry! Kerry, as prepared as he must have been, looked shell shocked about midway through. GWB was truly running on all cylinders. Here is the transcript just in case you missed it.

In related news, John Kerry is taking a shellacking over his Mary Cheney, lesbian remarks. When he was asked whether he thought homosexuality was a choice Kerry gave this answer.

KERRY: We're all God's children, Bob. And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as.

As soon as the words came out of his mouth I knew he was in for it. It just doesn't sit right with the American public when you drag your opponents children, even grown children, into the campaign. It just isn't done and I will wager Kerry will and already is paying dearly for it.

Somebody should just gag Elizabeth Edwards right now. Do you believe this?

Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of vice presidential candidate John Edwards, suggested in radio interview that Mrs. Cheney might feel "a certain degree of shame" because her daughter is a lesbian.

What are these people thinking? Hugh Hewitt is right, if they would just offer up a simple apology this would all go away. This is turning into a huge black eye for the Kerry / Edwards team, not that I'm not loving every minute of it, but it seems what little, if any, momentum they had is gone. They are beginning the nose dive and engine #1 is in flames.

Third and final

Presidential debate coming up...will post later with comments. Eject! Eject! must be read. It so accurately describes many who now see the world so differently than they did on September 10th, 2001.

These bastards who declared war on us and the rest of the Western world must be stopped at all costs. If you cannot see that Iraq is but a battle in the Global War on Terror then you miss the point.

Hugh Hewitt makes this excellent point. The real problem, as I see it, is today's media. Not only because of their inherent left wing bias but because we are constantly reminded of how many casualties we have taken, how many civilian casualties have been taken, etc... If we would have had the same media during WWII as we do today I don't know that we would have won that war. Don't believe me? Consider this, what kind of public outcry would there be if something like the bombing of Dresden were to take place today? I believe in freedom of the press but do we really have to be informed EVERY time a soldier dies? Every soldiers death is a tragedy and should be mourned, don't get me wrong, but it only serves to embolden the enemy and dampen our spirit. Can you imagine our WWII press updating the casualty rate every time a soldier died? It would have been downright demoralizing and possible could have cost us the war.

The President once again nails it.

Jeez...what kooks!

This from the waffle man's wanna be First Lady...they are all delusional...

Aren't conspiracy theorists supposed to be kooks on the fringe? Nobody knows who this guy is, I don't even know if he does. It's scary that this guy is even in the running to be the President of the United States. Contrast Kerry to Bush's Speech at the UN today. Here's the link. http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2004/09/20040921-3.html

That's what a real leader acts like. For the life of me I don't understand this mentality or lack thereof.

Some excellent stuff

There is some truely excellent stuff out there about the goings on in Iraq from some of those who are there.

Go to http://www.thegreenside.com This stuff needs to be read.

Also, Hugh Hewitt has a letter from a Marine Major who tells it like it is.

When is the old media gonna learn? And we promised that we would let the American public know what this examination turned up, whatever the outcome. Now, after extensive additional interviews, I no longer have the confidence in these documents that would allow us to continue vouching for them journalistically. I find we have been misled on the key question of how our source for the documents came into possession of these papers. That, combined with some of the questions that have been raised in public and in the press, leads me to a point where—if I knew then what I know now—I would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the documents in question. But we did use the documents. We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism. Please know that nothing is more important to us than people's trust in our ability and our commitment to report fairly and truthfully."

Thank you to Drudge.

Will post more later.

Hat tip to Powerlineblog.com

Very good George Will column...a must read as they say.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A24766-2004Sep15.html

You go Bob!

Statement by Former Senator Bob DoleFri Sep 17 2004 00:39:35 ETARLINGTON, VA -- Former Senator Bob Dole issued the following statement: "As Chairman of the Bush-Cheney Veterans Coalition, and as a veteran, I call on John Kerry to demand that MoveOn.org take down their ad depicting a defeated American soldier. It's one thing to debate whether we should take the fight to the terrorists, but depicting an American soldier in effect surrendering in the battle against the terrorists is beyond the pale. I cannot believe that John Kerry, who reminds us daily of his Vietnam service, would possibly approve the disgusting and demoralizing portrayal of American soldiers fighting for us in Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world. John Kerry has raised doubts about our troops' ability to maintain security as well as Iraqi's ability to decide their own future through elections. He has called the allies in Iraq "window dressing." This is all reminiscent of his appearance before a Senate Committee in 1971 where he suggested with nothing but second hand information American GIs were committing atrocities and war crimes of the worst kind in Vietnam. This defeatist attitude undermines the great progress and sacrifices of our men and women in the military and the contributions of our allies who are fighting against terror and standing up for freedom around the world. The politics of pessimism that is being pursued by John Kerry and the extreme liberals demonstrates they are consumed by the past with nothing to offer but attacks on the President's agenda for creating a safer world. John, say it isn't so and denounce this latest effort to divide Americans"

Bob Dole, a Real American Hero!

You gotta love this

This is the worst economy since the depression say the Demacrats.

http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/ns/news/story.jsp?id=2004091616140002567164&dt=20040916161400&w=RTR&coview=

Here's more good information.

The American economy grew at a strong pace of 4.2 percent during the first quarter of 2004 - well above the historical average. Economic growth over the last three quarters has been the fastest in nearly 20 years, at a 5.5 percent annual rate that would double the size of the economy in 13 years.
President Bush's Actions Are Helping to Fuel Our Economic Recovery
The President's Jobs and Growth tax relief package helped fuel the strong improvement in our economy. It raised the level of economic activity and productivity, which will result in higher incomes and living standards for American workers. Recently released data confirm that the economy is strong and growing stronger.
March's increase in employment was the largest in almost four years. 308,000 new jobs were created in March - the largest monthly increase since April 2000 - and 759,000 jobs have been added over the last 7 months. Additionally, there was a cumulative upward revision of 87,000 jobs for the previous two months, showing that more jobs were created in January and February than initially thought.
The household survey puts the increase in employment even higher at 978,000 over the last 7 months.
The national unemployment rate was 5.7% in March - far below its peak of 6.3% in June 2003, and below the average of the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.
Over the past year, the unemployment rate has fallen in 44 of the 50 states.
Initial unemployment claims have remained at levels consistent with strong job growth.
American companies are reporting historic levels of growth
Productivity grew from 2000 to 2003 at the fastest 3-year rate in more than 50 years. This has bolstered profits and will lead to significantly higher real wages for workers.
More manufacturers are reporting increased activity and new orders than at any time in 20 years. The ISM Manufacturing employment index in March was at its highest level since 1987.
Household spending continues to be strong. As a result of the President's 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, personal consumption levels have risen significantly. Real after-tax incomes are up by 10% since December 2000 - substantially better than those following the last recession.
Retail sales other than motor vehicles in the first quarter of 2004 increased 11.6 percent, more than double the average annual rate of growth over the last decade.
Consumer confidence is at its highest level in 3 months and is rising. The Conference Board said its index of consumer confidence increased 4.4 points to 92.9 in April, from 88.5 in March. Consumers' expectations about employment are at their highest level in nearly 20 years.
Housing construction in March surged to levels near those of December 2003, when they were at their highest levels in almost 20 years.
In the first quarter of 2004, the national homeownership rate remained at a record high of 68.6 percent, originally set in the fourth quarter of 2003.
Minority homeownership set a new quarterly record of 50.8 percent in the first quarter, up 0.2 percentage points from the fourth quarter and up 1.5 percentage points from the first quarter of 2003.
Inflation remains restrained, with the core CPI rising only 1.6 percent and the core finished-goods PPI rising only 0.7 percent over the last 12 months.
Mortgage rates remain near historic lows, making homebuying easier and more affordable.

Why people are so pessimistic is beyond me.

Bush Blowout!

Drudge reports "Gallup Shows Bush Blowout: 14 Point Lead Over Kerry" Did I tell you? Once voters finally started seriously start paying attention they see just who and what John Kerry stands for. The extreme left liberal views of America. The average American simply doesn't fall on the extreme left or right. In my opinion most American's fall a little more to the right but I don't have any data to back that up at the moment, just a feeling I have.

More on Rathergate http://www.drudgereport.com/cbsd3.htm

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=40483

Dan is finished, but hey, I could be wrong....I don't think so, but I could be.

Here is something on the aftermath of the Beslan massacre in Russia.

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/storydisplay.cfm?storyID=3591951&thesection=news&thesubsection=world

I tend to agree with the Russians on this one. Russia has every right if no the obligation to go after the bastards who did this and make them pay. If I lost my child is Beslan, I'd be signing up for the Russian Security Forces right now. Here's something I wrote about how I felt about this a couple of weeks ago before I started the blog.

So it’s come to this. Wantonly and maliciously targeting and murdering children in cold blood. More than 150 children slaughtered by Islamic Jihadists…terrorists…cowards. The massacre in Beslan, Russia should serve as a reminder of just who we are dealing with in our war on terror. What kind of savages murder children to advance a cause?

Those that didn’t get it before, I pray understand now, just who this enemy is and what he is capable of. You can’t negotiate with terrorists who would turn a school full of innocent parents and children into a slaughter house. You can’t turn a blind eye and hope they leave you alone and you can’t buy them off. The only solution is to root them out where they hide and kill them. That’s all these cowards understand. This is war. A war not of our choosing but a war forced on us. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Republican or Democrat, Liberal or Conservative, black or white, rich or poor and now, apparently, it doesn’t even matter if you’re an adult or a child. They want us dead, every one of us. For the average American it’s tough to wrap our minds around that because that’s not who we are.

Those that believe our battle in Iraq is creating more terrorists just don’t get it. Iraq is but a battle in the larger war against Islamic terrorism. These groups have been at war with us for years; it just took an event like 9/11 to make us realize it. There are those who will tell you that the terror threat is hyped and is being used as a scare tactic. Over 150 dead children in Russia and over 3000 of our countrymen dead on 9/11; that’s not a scare tactic, that’s the reality of the danger we face today. Everyday I thank God that we have brave men and women who willingly put their lives in harms way, taking the fight to these monsters, instead of waiting for them to hit us again. It is a debt we will never be able to repay. Those of us who remain here must be steadfast and resolute in the face of rising casualty figures; we owe our fighting men and women no less. Every American lost in this war on terror is a tragedy and we are right to cringe every time we hear of another countryman’s death. But what is the alternative? Do we wait for them to hit us again, and again, and again? Do we wait for another 9/11 or Beslan? Or do we continue taking the fight to them? In this epic struggle there is no middle ground.

That's all for now.

One last thing...

for tonight. If you haven't been fortunate enough to hear the genius that is Glenn Beck you must familiarize yourself. This man and his producer Stu are political comedy geniuses. This will mostly be a political blog about the news and happenings of the day with my opinions intermixed....I hope I will not be the only one reading them because then...what would be the point? Anyway, here goes!

Let's start with Rathergate! I am predicting Rather is out the door in a month or less. I simply do not understand how CBS can continue to defend this tripe in the face of mountains of evidence and certified document experts saying there is simply no way these docs are legit. Go to http://hughhewitt.com for all the latest and a much more in depth look at this. Hugh also hosts a very fine radio program...check out his site for details.

The Bush lead...I'll keep this short. This lead will only grow in the weeks ahead...it's over for the Waffle man...this won't even be close.

That'll do it for now...go stuff to do. Hope somebody looks at this...let me know what you think.
